Dedicated to the color, mystery, and magic of Mardi Gras. Over 150 years of Carnival history from New Orleans to Acadiana brought to life. Fifteen different videos feature highlights of King Cake traditions, balls, parades, French Quarter revelry and the Cajun "Courir du Mardi Gras." A massive collection of toy trains, working models and visitor activated trains are just a part of this exciting museum. There's also a children's "play scape" designed for early elementary and preschool visitors that feature a half scale caboose playhouse. The museum features the collections of the LA Wildlife and Fisheries Dept. including some of the world's only displays of the extinct Passenger Pigeon and Ivory billed Woodpecker. A 15,000 gallon fresh water aquarium feautres Louisiana undersea wildlife.
